Shredders aren’t just for paper…

So, I decided to share my "back to school" picture.  I don't normally do this, but I think this might be appreciated.  We teachers need to stick together, as things can get tough at times.  Even of our own making.

Today was the second day of school, and I  was heading off to my new position at the high school.  I decided to wear my "back to school" special outfit today so I didn't appear too eager, ya know.  As I put on my beautiful, draped shirt dress, I felt my confidence increase.  Apparently, that was misplaced...

After school, I stood looking into the refrigerator for that perfect snack.  I hear the paper shredder start from behind me.  (I was standing next to our bar as I casually looked into the fridge.)  I couldn't imagine what would have caused the shredder to start working, as Peter was across the room on the phone.

Upon turning around, I felt my dress tighten and begin to pull down on my shoulders...  Then instant realization hit!  My dress had slipped into the shredder slit and was being shredded while I was wearing it!!!  I hit the power button with lightning speed and gave a shout out to Peter.  Coming to my rescue, he said, "Oh, my word, Honey! I'm not sure what to do!!"

Luckily, our shredder has a reverse button.  It didn't get to shred the entire dress, but I now have a shirt with a frayed hem!  Sure hoping the year isn't off to this kind of start overall.  Could be a whopper!!!

There once was a "damsel" in black,

Was distressed with one fatal step back,

As she looked with a stare,

Heard the whir in the air,

And could see that her dress wasn't there!
